Mike Jellick

Composer. Piano.

Born in New Delhi, India, and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Mike Jellick has been playing piano since he was 2. He started playing jazz while in high school, where he learned jazz playing and composing primarily through auto-didacticism.

Mike is one of the most sought-after pianists in the midwest. He draws from classical and jazz in his playing and composing.

Mike has enjoyed spending time either touring, on stage, and/or in the studio with Rodney Whitaker, Carl Allen, Wes Anderson, Stanley Jordan, Marcus Belgrave, Christian McBride, Sean Dobbins, Ingrid Jensen, Terreon Gulley, Jesse Palter, Sean Jones, as well as other notable artists.

Mike has a private studio teaching both jazz and classical theory and performance. In the midwest scene, he can be found at The Dirty Dog Jazz Cafe with various Mack Avenue recording artists and others Detroit jazz fixtures, as well as the club he calls his home in Detroit, Cliff Bells
